For production companies

Freelance A1 who owns his own rig and knows how to work on someone else's.

Behringer Wing, X32 and M32, XR18 — the Behringer boards are where I'm fastest. Also a PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2, which was the first digital desk I worked on and which I still own. I own and maintain my own gear, so the practice happened on my time rather than on someone's clock. I can bring a rig or walk onto yours.

On a team

Most of my work has been solo — my rig, my load-in, every decision mine. I've liked production work for the opposite reason: when I only have to do my job, I do it better.

Because I'm used to doing all of it, I have a decent sense of what everyone else needs from me, and I get the parts other people are waiting on done first. I ask for feedback, and I know when to be out of the way.

Also useful on site

Comfortable with power tools and my own set of them — circular saw, miter saw, drill/drivers, router, orbital sander, clamps. Happy on a build or scenic call.

Rates

Depends on the call: show call or full day, whether I'm bringing gear or operating yours, travel and load-in time. Tell me the shape of it and I'll give you a number on the phone.

Keep working in the woodshed until your skills catch up to your taste.
