The rig

I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

All of it is mine, and all of it comes to the show — including inputs for whatever you're bringing yourself.

40inputs — 24 on the Behringer Wing plus 16 on the Midas DL16, mixed from an iPad
6independent monitor mixes — 9 buses if you bring your own wedges or IEMs
20microphones
6channels of DI

A full band with a drum kit, three background vocals, and a four-piece horn section fits without a special conversation. Past six monitor mixes, we talk about what the band is bringing.

Always the Wing. Speakers picked for the room.

Every show

  • Behringer Wing, 24 channels, mixed from an iPad all night. It sounds great and keeps a complicated stage easy to manage, so it comes to every show.
  • A wireless handheld I keep to talk to the band
  • Stands, cabling, playback, power

Picked for the room and the show

  • Small or narrow rooms: Yamaha DBR10s, a pair as mains and a pair as monitors
  • Wide rooms and outdoor spaces: QSC KC12 column arrays. They spread sound 145° side to side, so people at the edges hear what the middle hears.
  • Subs and more wedges when the band and the space call for them
  • Mics and DI to fit the band, from twenty microphones and six channels of DI
